Purpose:

The NAPA Store Lead plays a key leadership role within the store by supporting daily operations, delivering outstanding customer service, and assisting Team Leadership, inventory control, and sales execution. This role serves as a working leader on the floor, modeling NAPA standards, coaching team members, and ensuring smooth store operations in the absence of the Location Manager.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Lead by example to deliver exceptional service to retail and wholesale customers
• Serve customers in-store, by phone, and assist with deliveries as needed
• Support daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
• Assist with freight check-in, stocking, merchandising, and maintaining store appearance
• Provide accurate parts knowledge and solutions to customers
• Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, restocking, and organization
• Assist with processing cores, defective returns, and inventory transfers
• Help train, mentor, and support Parts Professionals and Deliver Driver(s)
• Reinforce compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Assist with scheduling coverage, workflow prioritization, and task delegation
• Step in as acting leader
• Participate in required training, NAPA online courses, and product education
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture

Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge

• Previous experience in a parts store, automotive, or related industry preferred
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Demonstrated leadership or shift-lead experience preferred
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Basic to intermediate computer and point-of-sale system skills
• Working knowledge of inventory management practices
• Passion for the automotive or equipment industry
• ASE certification or willingness to pursue certification preferred

Working Conditions & Requirements

• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds
• Occasional travel as needed
