FT Cook - Vol State CC campus dining

Creative Dining Services is growing and looking for a friendly, knowledgeableCookto join our team at Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, TN! As the cook, this role works within the Dining Services Department to ensure that high quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food is being provided throughout the operation in a fiscally responsible and safe manner. This role will be involved in daily preparation, cooking and serving of food and menu items - this will also include cleaning and dishwashing as well as any other tasks assigned by supervisors.

Availability: Monday through Thursday, 6:00am to 3:00pmno nights or weekends!

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Minimum of 2 years cooking experience
  • knowledge of proper food safety, food handling, storage and service techniques
  • familiarity with batch-cooking techniques and time management to avoid over/under production
  • follow recipes and prepare food items in a manner that preserves freshness, quality and appeal
• Excellent customer service skills
• Eye on safety - maintains a clean, safe work environment at all times
• Team attitude - supports other kitchen employees in assuring that all essential functions of the kitchen are performed adequately and appropriately
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
• ServSafe Certification preferred
