Job Description

Journeyman Painter - Industrial Spray
Santa Teresa, New Mexico | Penington Painting Company

ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Penington Painting Company is building a crew for a large-scale new construction project in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. The scope is simple and the quantity is enormous: more than one million square feet of drywall, plus exposed structure, steel columns, bollards, and hollow metal doors and frames. It is all painting. No taping, no finishing, no floor systems, and almost no exterior work. If you want a long run of production spray work with a steady paycheck, this is it.

PAY: $31.00 per hour. $26.00 Local 823 industrial journeyman scale plus a $5.00 per hour project incentive.
SCHEDULE: Six days
DURATION: 10 to 12 months of steady work
UNION: IUPAT District Council 36, Local Union 823

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Airless spray production. This is the core of the job.
- Working from scissor lifts. Most walls are 30 feet.
- Overhead dryfall spray on exposed structure, in corridors and electrical rooms.
- Cut and roll finish work in corridors, administrative areas, and rooms with ceilings.
- Pre-catalyzed epoxy on hollow metal doors and frames, a finish that shows everything.
- Masking and floor protection. Finished flooring is already down in places.
- Spotting for lift work and material deliveries.
