Apprentice Painter - Industrial Spray

ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Penington Painting Company is building a crew for a large-scale new construction project in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. The scope is simple and the quantity is enormous: more than one million square feet of drywall, plus exposed structure, steel columns, bollards, and hollow metal doors and frames. It is all painting. No taping, no finishing, no floor systems, and almost no exterior work. If you want a long run of production spray work with a steady paycheck, this is it.
PAY: From $18.20 to $24.70per hour.Local 823 industrial apprentice scale plus a $5.00 per hour project incentive.
SCHEDULE: Six days
DURATION: 10 to 12 months of steady work
UNION: IUPAT District Council 36, Local Union 823
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
-Prep and production support for the spray crew: masking, floor protection, and keeping material moving.
- Spotting for lift work and material deliveries. You will be certified for it before you start.
- Working from scissor lifts. Most walls are 30 feet.
- Cut and roll finish work in corridors, administrative areas, and rooms with ceilings.
- Airless spray work as your stage and your skill allow. There is a lot of wall here to learn on.
