Doodle Bugs Daycare is seeking a caring, dependable, and experiencedLead Preschool Teacherto join our team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about early childhood education, understands child development, and can create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment where children can learn and grow.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader in the classroom, communicates well with families and coworkers, and is able to plan and implement meaningful learning experiences for preschool-aged children. Experience with theReggio Emilia approachis strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead a preschool classroom and provide a safe, positive, and structured learning environment
- Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans, activities, and classroom experiences
- Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Use positive guidance and effective classroom management strategies
- Create hands-on, child-centered learning experiences that encourage exploration and independence
- Observe and document children’s growth, development, and milestones
- Maintain open, professional communication with parents and families
- Ensure the classroom remains clean, organized, and compliant with licensing requirements
- Supervise assistant teachers and help maintain a strong classroom routine
- Follow all center policies, health and safety procedures, and state licensing regulations
- Collaborate with leadership and other staff members to support the overall success of the center
Qualifications
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed childcare center or preschool setting
- Previous experience as aLead Teacheror in a classroom leadership role preferred
- Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
- Ability to manage a classroom with confidence, patience, and professionalism
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, organized, and punctual
- Must meet all state licensing requirements for childcare staff
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with or knowledge of theReggio Emilia philosophy - not required
- CDA, associate degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Experience creating curriculum based on children’s interests and developmental needs
- Strong understanding of positive behavior guidance and relationship-based teaching
