Security SOC Operations

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients and their assets. This role requires strong observational skills, the ability to respond effectively to incidents, and a commitment to upholding safety protocols. The Security Officer will monitor premises through surveillance systems, conduct regular patrols, and ensure compliance with security policies. Site location is the NCDOT Transportation Building in Downtown Raleigh. Position is a full-time position.

Responsibilities/Skills

· Proficient computer skills with a strong comfort level in Microsoft Office applications and interfacing with other various software applications

· Must be able to receive reports, in person or telephonic, and clearly articulate in writing step-by-step security event related to information received.

· Possess a minimum of Associate’s Degree.

· Knowledge of effective verbal and written communication techniques

· Familiarity with report writing

· Ability to provide excellent customer service and interact with all types of personnel and the public.

· Active listening skills

· Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy

· Must pass our pre-employment screening process and thorough background check

Experience

• Previous experience in security SOC operations, law enforcement or military service is preferred.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with surveillance systems and loss prevention techniques is a plus.
• Strong conflict management skills to handle challenging situations effectively.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure while making quick decisions.

Duties Include:

· Must remain in the SOC during entire shift except when inspecting and securing interior doors.

· Monitor CCTV’s and other recording/monitoring devices as well as dispatching duties as needed

· Review incidents captured by the surveillance system

· Issuing/making security credentials

· Monitoring building alarms, performing camera patrols, submitting service tickets

· Responding to employee needs such as complaints, escorts, visitor process, and other security related matters
