By optimizing electrical packaging and migrating legacy systems to modern design platforms, this role is critical to delivering resilient, custom power solutions to the market.
SummaryWe are seeking a process-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our client on-site in either Batesville, MS, or Griffin, GA, with opportunities available for both junior (2+ years) and senior (10+ years) professionals. The primary focus of this position is full lifecycle ownershipfrom design and installation to commissioning and maintenanceof customized electrical systems within heavy-duty generator enclosures. The ideal candidate is a detail-driven self-starter who thrives in a hands-on manufacturing environment and enjoys seeing their designs rapidly translate into tangible products without micromanagement.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and specify tailored electrical systems (up to 480V, with 120V interfaces) within customized generator enclosures.
Develop, review, and optimize complex single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
Execute advanced protection coordination and grounding system designs for robust power generation.
Drive the modernization of engineering workflows by migrating legacy AutoCAD designs into SolidWorks Electrical.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional manufacturing and fabrication teams to refine designs, troubleshoot assembly challenges, and ensure practical manufacturability.
Ensure rigorous compliance with all applicable safety and design standards, including IEC, IEEE, NEC, and NFPA.
Provide dedicated technical support and clear, actionable installation instructions for successful generator operations.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is strongly preferred.
Years of Experience: Open to Junior (2+ years) and Senior (10+ years) engineering professionals.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with SolidWorks Electrical and SolidWorks Simulations is highly preferred. Experience with legacy AutoCAD files and PLC/logic-based controls is advantageous.
Industry Experience: Demonstrated background working with switchgear, industrial power supplies, electrical standards, and large weldments or fabrication.
Work Environment Requirements: Willingness and ability to work in a true, active manufacturing setting, which includes exposure to extreme weather, loud noises, vibrations, electrical hazards, and working at heights over 4 feet (all appropriate PPE provided).
Travel Requirements: Up to 10% travel is required.
