Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting workforce development, employee relations, staff compliance, recruitment, training, and administrative operations. This position works closely with program leadership to promote a positive workplace culture, ensure compliance with agency standards and regulatory requirements, and support the organization's mission of helping individuals lead self-directed and meaningful lives.
Essential Responsibilities: The Human Resources Generalist shall be responsible for the following:
· Promote and support a culture that encourages self-directed lives, personal choice, and person-centered services for the individuals supported by the organization.
· Conduct and monitor staff stability surveys and assist leadership with staff retention initiatives.
· Foster positive and professional relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
· Maintain a safe, organized, and professional office environment.
· Maintain office correspondence and administrative records.
· Assist Program Managers with employee discipline, performance improvement processes, and employee separations as needed.
· Coordinate recruitment activities, including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and orientation of new employees.
· Develop, maintain, and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate staffing coverage.
· Assist the Program Manager in monitoring employee certifications, licenses, and training requirements to ensure compliance with agency and regulatory standards.
· Coordinate and facilitate staff training, including orientation, policy and procedure training, medication administration training, First Aid and CPR, and other required training.
· Maintain employee training records and documentation.
·Oversee fiscal activities of assigned homes, including monitoring consumer funds, grocery purchases, and related expenditures in accordance with agency procedures.
· Prepare and distribute quarterly financial reports to individuals' families or designated representatives, as appropriate.
· Educate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and supervisory staff on risk management principles, processes, and best practices.
· Exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality when handling employee, individual, and organizational information.
· Participate in Quality Management activities and support organizational quality improvement initiatives.
· Provide direct support services when operational needs require assistance within residential homes.
· Participate in the agency's on-call supervisor rotation.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the organization.
Qualifications
The Human Resource Generalist must meet one of the following qualifications:
1. Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university and at least one (1) year of experience working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and at least two (2) years of experience working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
3. Associate degree or a minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited college or university and at least four (4) years of experience working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
