PRODUCTION OPERATOR
The primary purpose of this position is product manufacturing; blending and packaging. This position will
uphold the Hydrite "Standards of Excellence" through continuous commitment to customer satisfaction,
both internal and external.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Active contributor and leader of Hydrite's Safety Vision, Mission and Values.
- Provides consistent,safety-focusedsupport for all shipping, receiving, and operational functions.
- Blending and packaging of liquidand powderchemicals in a GMP environment.
- Inspection, cleaning, and filling of drums and totes.
- Loading andunloading oftank trucks.
- Drawing samples of incoming product and finish blends and compounds.
- Cleaning and inspection of blenders and reactors.
- Careful review of worksheets.
- Operation of machinery as directed by supervisor.
- Attend all mandatory training.
- Complete all paperwork accurately, neatly, and according to SOP by the end of each shift.
- Unload bulk raw materials and intermediates into designated storage or packaging areas.
- Store finished goods and raw materials.
- Obtain product samples for Quality Control testing.
- Assist production with routine maintenanceif needed.
- Clean and sanitize equipment.
- Operate equipment to mix and process raw materials.
- Package and weigh raw materials and finished goods.
- Maintain clean work areas using appropriate equipment.
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely.
- Operate digital scales accurately.
- Follow company safety protocols and chemical handling procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members.
- Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITES
- May be required to cover for other employees in the plant, warehouse or another driver as directed
- by the Production Supervisor.
- Works with other staff members to maintain workload balances. Provides back-up support as
- Supports effective communication with all Hydrite departments where responsibilities overlap toensure success of the branch team.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
- This position reports to the Plant Manager.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Previous chemical manufacturing experience recommended.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office, previous ERP experience a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit, stand, and climb stairs for up to 10hours per day.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, frequently.
- Able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 50 feet on occasion.
- Able to perform manual dexterity tasks.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Must be able to work in an un-cooled warehouse facility where temperatures may reach 100°ree;Fahrenheit.
- Occasional turning, twisting, stooping, bending, and reaching.
- Able to wear a hairnet and beard net, if applicable, with a hard hat.
- No exposed jewelry in body piercings when in a GMP production area.
- Due to safety concerns, the wearing of contact lenses is prohibited.
- Ability to wear a respirator for up to 4 hours a day. Please refer to the SOP for facial hair
- Ability to wear SCBA and additional personal protective equipment.
