Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist

Location: The Woodlands, TX

Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 per year

Benefits: This position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our client's accounting team in The Woodlands area. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounts receivable and accounting principles, along with the ability to manage customer accounts, payments, reconciliations, and collections activities. Experience with Oracle Fusion is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the accounts receivable process and maintain accurate customer account records
  • Apply and reconcile customer payments to outstanding balances
  • Monitor AR aging and follow up on past-due accounts
  • Perform customer account reconciliations and research discrepancies
  • Research and resolve payment issues, short pays, unapplied cash, and account variances
  • Communicate with customers regarding account balances and payment status
  • Prepare and maintain AR reports and account reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts receivable
  • Review transactions for accuracy and proper account coding
  • Maintain accurate documentation and supporting schedules
  • Work closely with internal departments to resolve customer account issues
  • Assist with collections efforts and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Support the accounting team with additional projects and responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required
  • 2+ years of accounts receivable or general accounting experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and AR processes
  • Oracle Fusion experience highly preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
