Position Overview
The Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing construction equipment and vehicles in support of utility-scale solar project operations. This role ensures equipment readiness and safety, contributing to project efficiency and success.
Essential Functions
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy and light-duty construction equipment including PD-10s, excavators, loaders, skid steers, telehandlers, trucks, and trailers.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in the field and in shop settings.
- Document service activities, repairs, and inspections per company standards.
- Coordinate with the operations team to ensure minimal equipment downtime.
- Support mobilization, demobilization, and site inventory processes.
- Maintain safe and clean work environments in compliance with company and OSHA regulations.
- Assist with parts ordering, inventory tracking, and tool management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in construction equipment maintenance and repair.
- Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
