The Customer Service Representative achieves sales objectives through effective customer service and clear communication. This role focuses on servicing and selling to customers within an assigned district, maintaining vendor-managed inventory setups, and planning and organizing new customer locations. The position works closely with sales representatives and management to support growth opportunities and ensure a professional, consistent experience for all customers.

Responsibilities
  • Interact extensively with sales representatives and customers to clarify their needs and research various situations to provide appropriate solutions.
  • Communicate with customers to identify potential growth opportunities and product line extensions within the assigned district.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions from customers to management and the sales team to improve products, services, and processes.
  • Offer spot-buy capabilities to respond quickly to customer needs and increase overall customer satisfaction.
  • Support sales coverage by assisting with gaps when sales representatives are on vacation or when territories are open.
  • Learn, enforce, and consistently support corporate policies and guidelines in a professional manner.
  • Create and maintain a professional image in all customer and internal interactions.
  • Complete all paperwork and documentation necessary to fulfill position responsibilities accurately and on time.
  • Maintain and support current vendor-managed inventory setups and assist in planning and organizing new customer locations.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience in customer service or account management, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong customer service and customer support skills, with the ability to handle inquiries and resolve issues effectively.
  • Ability to solve problems in situations where most issues have occurred before and established solutions are available.
  • Ability to communicate detailed information clearly, frequently involving customer needs and preferences.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan short- and long-term projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Basic data entry skills and comfort working with business information systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience using SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is highly preferred.
  • Background in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or bookkeeping is a strong plus but not required.
  • Experience working with vendor-managed inventory or similar programs is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing operations and workflows is advantageous.
Work Environment

This role is based onsite Monday through Friday in Strongsville, working in a professional office and customer-focused environment. The position involves regular collaboration with sales representatives, management, and customers, using tools such as SAP and other business systems to manage information and inventory. The work setting emphasizes a professional image, clear communication, and adherence to corporate policies, with standard weekday hours and a structured, team-oriented atmosphere.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Strongsville, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
