Compal is searching for a proactive and detail-oriented Failure Analysis (FA) Technician to join our cutting-edge server and hardware manufacturing team! Here’s your opportunity to work with innovative technology and make a real impact on product reliability.

Location: On-site (train in Georgetown, production in Taylor, TX)
Type: Full-Time | 8a-5p M-F | starting at $22/hr

What You’ll Do:
  • Dive deep into returned or defective servers, boards, and subassemblies to analyze failure points
  • Use root cause analysis tools like 5 Whys and Fishbone, along with advanced fault isolation techniques
  • Work hands-on with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and software diagnostics to troubleshoot hardware and system-level issues
  • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to drive meaningful corrective and preventive actions
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by tracking failure trends and identifying yield improvement opportunities
  • Document your findings clearly in reports and internal systemsyour insights will help shape better products for the future!
Who You Are:
  • You have an associate’s degree or technical certification in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • You bring 1–3 years of experience in failure analysis, electronics repair, or manufacturing test environments
  • You can decipher schematics and technical documentation with ease
  • You have hands-on knowledge of server hardware, PCBs, or system-level troubleshooting
  • You’re comfortable with ESD protocols and lab environments
  • Your communication and documentation skills set you apart
Bonus Points:
  • Background in server or data center hardware manufacturing
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or quality methodologies
  • Familiarity with FA tools such as X-ray imaging or JTAG boundary scan
