Position Title:Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Reports To:Maintenance Manager
Location: Ghent, KY
Overview of Position:The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for assembling, disassembling, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining company mobile and heavy equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role supports daily fleet readiness by performing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs, preventative maintenance, and quality control inspections. Heavy Equipment Mechanics work closely with other team members to minimize equipment downtime while ensuring all work complies with safety and regulatory standards. Accurate documentation, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship are essential to the success of this position.

This job takes place in a Steel Mill setting, requiring a sense of high-level safety reverence using the required PPE for the environment.
Physical Demand:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen in potentially noisy indoor and outdoor environments. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk on both flat and uneven surfaces, sit, climb stairs, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. This job requires the employee to lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Compensation and Benefits
Base pay $25.00 - $29.00 an hour based on experience.
