Job Description

Job Description
Shape precision manufacturing in Bennington, VT

Step into a role where your programming chops and machining knowhow turn concepts into flawless parts. As a CNC Process Development Engineer, you will architect CNC processes, validate them on the shop floor, and continuously elevate quality and throughput.

A day in the life

You start by refining toolpaths for a new component, then head to the machines to prove out your programdialing in offsets, optimizing feeds and speeds, and confirming firstpiece quality. After a quick collaboration with production to squash a tooling issue, you review run data to uncover a cycletime opportunity. Before wrapping, you coach a junior teammate through a setup and schedule a calibration check on a critical machine.

What you will do
  • Create, test, and release CNC toolpaths and programs covering a range of machining operations.
  • Configure fixtures, tooling, and offsets; operate CNC equipment to validate and sustain efficient production.
  • Work closely with production to diagnose and resolve machining challenges.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration to keep CNC assets in top condition.
  • Evaluate production metrics to pinpoint improvements and implement practical solutions.
  • Uphold shop safety protocols and rigorous quality control practices.
  • Train and mentor junior team members in CNC programming and operations.
What you bring
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Handson experience with CNC programming and machining.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM tools and solid knowledge of CNC machine operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting aptitude and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Collaborative, teamoriented working style.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of machining safety standards and best practices.
