Instructional Aide in Racine, WI

This full-time, contract opportunity is open for the 2026/2027 school year, working 35 hours per week. You'll collaborate with teachers and school teams across elementary, middle, and high school settings to empower students with special needs, including those with behavioral challenges and intellectual disabilities.

Candidates should bring a passion for helping children and flexibility to adapt to different classrooms and caseloads. Applicants must possess, or be eligible for, a current paraprofessional certification through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI). Additional requirements for qualification include either an associate’s degree, 48 hours of completed college coursework, or a passing score on the WorkKeys assessmentreimbursement is available for those needing to complete this exam.

To be successful in this role, candidates should have:

• Experience working with special education students, especially those with behavioral and intellectual disabilities
• Familiarity with elementary, middle, or high school settings
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain patient, resourceful, and positive in various situations
• An active (or in-process) Wisconsin DPI Paraprofessional Certification
• Either an associate’s degree, 48+ college credit hours, or willingness to pass the WorkKeys exam
• A supervisor reference ready to provide prior to interview
