We are seeking aManufacturing Engineerwith hands-on experience in a machining and production environment. This position will support manufacturing operations throughprocess improvement, tooling and equipment optimization, cost reduction, quality improvement, and engineering project management.

The ideal candidate will have experience working withsingle- and/or multiple-spindle bar machines, CNC and cam-controlled equipment, metal-cutting processes, tooling design, feeds and speeds, and tool layouts.

The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with production, quality, suppliers, machine builders, and customers to improve manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and overall process capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate, plan, and recommend improvements tomanufacturing processes, plant layout, material handling, and production sequencing
  • Evaluate and recommendequipment purchases, modifications, replacements, and automation opportunities
  • Supportsingle- and multiple-spindle machining operations, including CNC and cam-controlled equipment
  • Assist withtooling design, tool layouts, feeds and speeds, and metal-cutting process optimization
  • Identify and implement methods to improveproductivity, quality, cycle times, and manufacturing costs
  • Participate incost estimating and APQP activities
  • Perform or assist withFMEA and DOE
  • Conductroot-cause analysisand support internal and customer corrective actions
  • Manage manufacturing process changes and assist withblueprint and engineering change documentation
  • Assist with machine design and prototype development in collaboration with machine builders and internal departments
  • Track quoted production rates against actual manufacturing performance
  • SupportVA/VE and continuous-improvement initiatives
  • Serve as a technical liaison with assigned customers and suppliers
  • Lead assigned engineering projects from inception through completion
  • Participate in internal and customer audits
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement departmental improvement goals
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient manufacturing environment utilizing5S principles

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required
  • 2–5 years of manufacturing/production engineering experience preferred
  • Experience in ametal machining or precision manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge ofCNC and/or cam-controlled machining
  • Experience withsingle- or multiple-spindle bar machineshighly desirable
  • Working knowledge oftooling, tool layouts, feeds and speeds, and metal-cutting processes
  • Familiarity withAPQP, FMEA, DOE, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to read and interpretengineering drawings and blueprints
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, project-management, and cross-functional communication skills

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing engineering background combined with practical, hands-on knowledge ofprecision machining and metal-cutting operations. Candidates should have experience with some or all of the following:

  • Single- and/or multiple-spindle bar machines
  • Cam-controlled and CNC-controlled machinery
  • Tooling design
  • Speeds and feeds
  • Tool layouts
  • Metal-cutting processes

This individual should be comfortable working directly within a production environment to troubleshoot machining processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop solutions that enhance quality, efficiency, cycle times, and overall manufacturing performance.
