Position: HR Assistant
Department: Human Resources
Reports To: Human Resources Director/Administrator

We are seeking a dependable, organized, and people-focused HR Assistant to support the Human Resources Department in the day-to-day operations of our skilled nursing facility. The HR Assistant will assist with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, compliance, employee communication, and general administrative duties.
The ideal candidate will be professional, approachable, detail-oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality while working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the recruitment and hiring process, including applications, interviews, references, and pre-employment requirements.
Assist with new-hire onboarding and orientation.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee personnel files.
Assist with employee background checks, clearances, physicals, and other required employment documentation.
Track employee licenses, certifications, training, and expiration dates.
Assist with employee education and in-service documentation.
Maintain confidentiality of employee and facility information.
Assist employees with general HR questions and direct concerns to the appropriate department or supervisor.
Assist with attendance, PTO, and employee documentation as needed.
Prepare HR correspondence, forms, reports, and other documentation.
Assist with employee recognition, engagement activities, and HR events.
Assist with disciplinary documentation and other employment-related paperwork.
Support compliance with facility policies, employment regulations, and long-term care requirements.
Assist with audits of employee files to ensure required documentation is complete.
Perform other HR and administrative duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous Human Resources, administrative, healthcare, or long-term care experience preferred.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
