Company: ForTech Solutions
Position Type: Full-Time
ForTech Solutions is looking for an ambitious, technically strong, and highly resourceful AV Solutions Engineer to help turn client needs and ideas into well-designed, practical technology solutions.
This position serves as a key technical connection between our Sales, Design, Project Management, and Field teams.
You will work closely with Sales during the early stages of a project to help develop system concepts, select products, build Bills of Materials (BOMs), prepare sketches, validate technical solutions, and assist with proposal development.
Your involvement doesn't necessarily end when the project is sold. You will remain a technical resource throughout the project lifecycle, working alongside Project Managers, designers, programmers, technicians, and installers to answer technical questions, solve challenges, review installations, and help ensure the completed system delivers what was originally promised to the client.
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys technology and figuring out how things work. Someone who is ambitious, creative, responsive, self-motivated, and comfortable taking ownership.
You may even be a little nerdy about technology we consider that a good thing but you also need the personality and communication skills to work effectively with clients, salespeople, designers, project managers, programmers, and field technicians.
This isn't simply a position for someone who understands products.
We want someone who understands how to turn technology into solutions.
A major focus of this position will be working alongside our Sales team to develop technically sound, practical, and sellable solutions based on client needs, project requirements, budgets, and desired outcomes.
Responsibilities include:
Serve as a day-to-day technical resource supporting our Design, Sales, and Project Management teams.
Work alongside Project Managers, programmers, technicians, and installers as a technical resource throughout project execution.
This position is not intended to replace the Project Manager, designer, programmer, or Lead Technician.
The AV Solutions Engineer becomes a technical bridge between these teams, helping everyone work from the same design intent and technical understanding.
Technology changes quickly. We want someone who enjoys keeping up with it and who is naturally interested in understanding what's next.
You will:
The ideal candidate has strong AV knowledge and genuinely enjoys figuring out how systems work together.
You should be:
Most importantly, we want someone with both technical depth and personality.
Being great with technology is important. Being able to communicate, collaborate, take ownership, and become a trusted technical resource for the team is equally important.
Strong knowledge or practical experience in several of the following areas is preferred:
Experience with platforms and manufacturers commonly used in the professional AV and custom integration industries is highly desirable.
Experience with some of the following is beneficial:
Advanced drafting experience is helpful but not required.
The ability to understand plans, think through systems, develop clear technical concepts, and communicate design intent is more important.
Preferred qualifications include:
We are also open to candidates who may not check every box but demonstrate strong AV fundamentals, technical curiosity, initiative, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to learn quickly.
Success in this position means:
Sales moves faster and sells better systems because technical questions, BOMs, product selections, and system concepts are addressed early.
Proposals become more accurate because technical scope and system requirements are reviewed before projects are sold.
Projects are better engineered because potential problems are identified before equipment arrives or installation begins.
Project Managers have a technical resource they can rely on when projects become complicated.
Field teams receive better technical support when questions or unexpected conditions arise.
Our standards continue to improve because someone is actively researching products, evaluating technology, and sharing knowledge.
And ultimately:
Clients receive better systems because the original vision and design intent carry through from the first conversation to final commissioning.
The AV Solutions Engineer helps connect the entire project lifecycle:
Client Need - Sales - Solution Development - Proposal - Engineering - Project Execution - Commissioning - Client Experience
ForTech Solutions designs, integrates, and supports technology systems for residential, commercial, and public-sector environments.
Our solutions include audiovisual systems, automation and control, networking and Wi-Fi, lighting control, motorized shading, security, surveillance, access control, and integrated technology systems.
We believe great technology starts with great design and ends with a great client experience.
We are looking for someone who wants more than simply completing assigned tasks. We want someone who is excited about technology, takes ownership, contributes ideas, helps teammates solve problems, and wants to grow alongside the company.
If you're the person who enjoys figuring out how technology works and then figuring out how to make it work even better we'd like to meet you.
