PositionOverview:
TheOSPFieldEngineerperformsfieldsurveysandcollectsdatatosupportfiberopticandtelecommunicationsengineeringprojects.Thisroledocumentsexistingaerialandundergroundutilityconditions,validatesroutes,capturesmeasurements,andensuresallinformationrequiredforaccuratedesignandpermittingiscollected.
KeyResponsibilities:
- Performfieldwalkstodocumentpoles,underground(UG)paths,utilities,right-of-way(ROW)boundaries,andsiteconditions.
- Capturerequiredphotos,includingpoletags,poleheights,cablelabels,MPOE,handholes,anchors,clearances,andobstructions.
- Measurespans,attachmentheights,mid-spanclearances,andaccuratelyrecordGPScoordinates.
- TakedetailedfieldnotesfollowingOSPDesignPrinciplesandmaintainaccurateroutedocumentation.
- ConvertfieldnotesintoGoogleEarth/KMZformat(preferred).
- Identifyconstructabilityissues,easements,utilityconflicts,andpermittingrequirements.
- UploadandmanagefielddatausingplatformssuchasKatapultProorIQGEO.
- CommunicatefieldfindingswithProjectManagers,Engineeringteams,andotherstakeholders.
Qualifications:
- ExperienceinOSPfielding,telecommunicationsconstruction,orutilitysurveyingpreferred.
- AT&Texperienceispreferred(IFP,ASE,andGPONexposureisaplus).
- KnowledgeofGoogleEarthwiththeabilitytocreateoreditKMZ/KMLfilesisaplus.
- UnderstandingofFTTxandAT&TGPONdesignisanadvantage.
- MustbelegallyauthorizedtoworkintheUnitedStates.
- Abilitytoworkoutdoorsinvariousweatherconditionsandperformphysicallydemandingfieldtasks.
- Validdriver'slicenseandreliabletransportation.

- Flexibletotravelforshortbusinesstripsandoccasionalweekendwork(rare).
- Abilitytomanagetimelinesefficientlywhilehandlingmultipleprojectssimultaneously.
