Operations Dispatcher - Local Freight Company

Position Summary

This role involves working in a call center environment, where you will engage with carriers, customers, and team members through email and phone communications. Your key responsibilities will include providing shipping rates, routing trucks, tracking drivers, and resolving any issues that may arise during the transportation process. This is an exciting opportunity to help advance operations for a growing freight company!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinating and scheduling transportation services to ensure smooth operations.
• Monitoring the status of shipments and providing updates as needed.
• Utilizing platforms such as Sylectus, DAT, and ITS to obtain rates from carriers.
• Assessing the validity of carriers on the Highway and setting them up in the system once they pass our evaluation.
• Working diligently to guarantee that deliveries are made on time to customers.
• Communicating with customers, account managers, and carriers to address and resolve any issues promptly.
• Engaging in negotiations with carriers regarding rates and updating the information in the 3PL system accordingly.
• Managing the uploading of documents and updating tracking statuses of loads in the 3PL system.

• Logistics Dispatch experience
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relationship management
• Strong focus on detail and problem-solving capabilities.
• Familiarity with the transportation and logistics industry is essential.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to collaborate and ensure company deadlines are met with a proactive attitude.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Standard office environment with use of computer, phone, keyboard, copy machine and printer.
