WAREHOUSE SUPPORT/FURNITURE MOVER/DRIVER

JOB DESCRIPTION

Fully Furnished Ministries is an Atlanta-area nonprofit furniture ministry established in 2002. Our mission is beautifully simple: matching those who have furniture to give to families who desperately need it, in a God-honoring way. We collect donated furniture from generous community members, restore it to dignity in our warehouse, and deliver complete home furnishings to families emerging from crisis so they can sleep in beds and families live with stability and hope. Fully Furnished Ministries serves over 500 families every year across the greater Atlanta region. Christ is at the center of everything we do.

The Warehouse Support staff report directly to the Director of Operations. This position will perform a variety of tasks in support of a properly maintained warehouse (i.e., clean, organized, free from clutter, properly staged) and a smooth pickup and delivery service days both during the week and on Saturdays.

ONGOING RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Supports smooth operation of service days. This includes:

a) Stage furniture for each workday. Ensure all outgoing furniture is prepped and staged to ensure fast, and smooth loading each workday.

b) Support off-scheduled donations, deliveries, and activities.

c) Assist in preparing FFM trucks for each workday, including maintenance, fueling, and cleaning.

d) Collect and process service day data.

2. Maintain warehouse discipline ensuring warehouse maintains a high state of cleanliness, safety, and organization.

a) Organize furniture donation as it enters warehouse, ensuring furniture is inspected prior to putting it away. All furniture should be neatly stacked and/or put with non-used furniture disposed of properly maximizing warehouse space.

b) Receive furniture donations dropped off at the warehouse each week during designated times.

c) Audit and report inventory while making recommendations as to which furniture items are needed. This may include the use of a Warehouse Management System.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum educational level of high school graduate

- Ability to lift furniture and operate warehouse machinery

- Clean driving record

WORK HOURS AND COMPENSATION:

This is a 40 hour/week position. Workdays generally are Tuesday through Saturday; however, this may vary depending on the service day schedule for a given month. FFM is closed on Sundays.

Hourly rate between $17/hr - $20/hr depending on qualifications. No benefits included.
