MAJORDUTIES&RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Performsroutinedutiesonanas-neededbasisasrequiredbysupervisorin
caringforresidents.Mustbeabletoworkinmultipleareasasyour
responsibilitiesarethatofaUniversalWorker.
Bathing:Residentsarebathedaccordingtothebathscheduleatleast3
timesweekly.
Dressing:Residentsareassistedindressing,whichmayrequiresome
liftingofresidentsforputtingonpants,shirts,etc.Residentsare
assistedwithputtingonandtakingoffbracesasneeded.
HairCare:Hairiscombeddailyandshampooedwithbathoratthebeauty
shopperindividualschedule.Formaleresidents,beardsare
shaved,trimmed,shampooedandcombeddaily.
OralHygiene:Residentsareassistedwithoralhygiene,includingdenturesat
leastaftereverymeal.Thismayrequireassistingresidentswith
teethbrushingandmayrequirebendingandreaching.Fresh
waterwillbeplacedinthedenturecupdaily.
NailCare:Fingerandtoenailsaretrimmedandfiledwithbathsandcleaned
asneeded.Fordiabeticresidents,obtainNurses’assistancewith
nailcare.
Toileting:Residentsareassistedasnecessarywithtoileting.Incontinent
residentsarecheckedand/ortoiletedevery2hoursduring
workinghours.Incontinentcareispromptlygivenafterevery
incontinentepisode.
Mealtimes:Foodplatesareserved,andresidentswhoneedassistanceand
helpduringmealtimes.Nourishingfoodisservedtoresidentsas
directedbytheExecutiveDirector.Allstaffareresponsiblefor
cleaningthekitchen,doingdishesandleavingthekitchenclean.

Housekeeping:Responsibleforcleaningofresidentrooms,commonareasand
otherareasofthehouse.
Laundry:Responsiblefordoingresidentlaundry,towels,sheetsandother
itemsasdirectedbysupervisor.
Kitchen:Responsibleforcookingallmealsasassigned.Mustfollowfood
serviceprotocolwhenpreparingmeals.Mealsareservedat8a,
12n,and5:30pm.Snacksareservedat10a,2pmand7pm.
2.ObserveChangesinResidents
Anychangesinresidentskin,appetite,behaviororactionswillbereportedtothe
chargenurse.Observealldiabeticresidentsclosely.Theseobservationsare
importanttotheresident’scareandwell-beingandaidthenurseinevaluatingthe
residentandinformulatinghis/hercareplan,assuringneedsaremet.
