  • Cares for chronically ill patients requiring ventilation and complex medication management
  • Common diagnoses: Hypertensive urgency, Sepsis, CVA
  • Nurses must be skilled intitrating pressorsand managingIV medicationsfor critically ill patients
  • DesignatedCOVID-positive unit
  • May receive Surgical or Cardiac ICU overflow patients if beds are unavailable
