We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for a privately held company in Fort Wayne, IN. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing essential transactions, and helping the organization stay on top of reporting deadlines. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of general ledger activity, hands-on experience with payables and payroll, and the ability to work confidently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure financial activity is recorded accurately and on time.

• Reconcile general ledger accounts, research discrepancies, and help maintain the integrity of accounting records.

• Manage accounts payable tasks, including reviewing invoices, entering payment details, and supporting timely vendor disbursements.

• Process full-cycle payroll with close attention to accuracy, compliance, and established deadlines.

• Assist with month-end closing activities by organizing documentation and supporting account analysis.

• Maintain clear financial records and verify supporting information for accounting transactions.

• Work within the company’s accounting platform and related project management system to track and record financial data.

• Partner with internal team members to resolve accounting issues and improve day-to-day financial operations.

• At least 3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or closely related experience.
• Practical experience preparing journal entries and working within the general ledger.
• Hands-on background in accounts payable and full-cycle payroll processing.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy.
• Proficiency using accounting software and comfort learning connected business systems.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting is welcomed, or equivalent bookkeeping experience may be considered.
• Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate and resolve account discrepancies.
