Metro Services is seeking to immediately fill CMM Programmer positions for a Manufacturing company in Belleville, MI. Apply now!
Duties for this position include:
• Program and operate coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to measure dimensions of automotive parts, inspection fixtures, and machine jigs
• Read and interpret blueprints, including dimensions and tolerance specifications according to GD&T and ANSI Y14.5 standards
• Perform detailed part layouts using direct-drive CMM equipment and bench layout methods
• Operate multiple machines simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and quality standards
• Perform capability studies, gauge R&R studies, and dimensional gauge certifications
• Certify check fixtures and maintain accurate measurement and certification data in the MQ1 system
• Compare recorded measurements to blueprint dimensions and tolerances and communicate discrepancies to appropriate personnel
• Assist with PPAP submissions and maintain required quality documentation
• Enter gauges into the gauge management system and ensure calibrations and statistical studies remain current in MQ1
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and support overall quality initiatives
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all MIOSHA safety standards and company procedures
Compensation (USD):
$30.00 – $35.00/hour, depending on experience
Schedule:
2nd Shift
Monday – Friday
2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Overtime and schedule flexibility may be required based on business needs.
Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:
• Experience programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T specifications
• Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 standards and dimensional inspection practices
• Experience with gauge certification, calibration, and gauge R&R studies
• Ability to perform capability studies and detailed part layouts
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to identify and communicate dimensional or quality discrepancies
• Ability to maintain accurate records and enter data into quality management systems such as MQ1
• Ability to assist with PPAP documentation and submissions
• Ability to work independently while effectively communicating with supervisors and team members
• Willingness to work overtime and adjust schedules on short notice as needed
• Must follow all required safety procedures and PPE requirements
