Substitute Staff

CIFC's Danbury Early Learning Programs (HEAD START & SCHOOL READINESS) is seeking hourly/per-shift Substitute Staff for our Danbury/Norwalk programs.

This is a highly utilized position that often leads to permanent employment, making it a perfect part-time opportunity for college students and parents.

Our Substitute Staff are scheduled for planned staff vacations and day-of, unplanned coverage needs.

The position offers maximum schedule flexibility and is ideal for candidates interested in Early Childhood Education, or those looking to gain experience in the field.

This role also provides opportunities for occupational growth.

Schedule:

• Flexible schedule
• On call
• Monday to Friday
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift

Substitute Staff work under the direction of the Substitute Coordinator and daily classroom Teacher, assisting classrooms in maintaining routines, curriculum, meals, and related activities for children (ages 6 weeks-5 years old).

Requirements

Successful candidates possess:

• Recent fit for duty examination.
• Recent documentation free of communicable diseases (i.e. TB and COVID).
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Are 18 years or older;
• A high school diploma or GED equivalence (preferred);
• Have some childcare or preschool experience; and/or
• Motivated candidates do not require experience.
