AGC Glass Company North America operates a high-tech manufacturing site in Bellefontaine, Ohio, producing high-quality automotive safety glass for automakers in the United States and around the world. Role snapshot
- Lead the creation and deployment of quality control systems and processes.
- Execute audits and testing to verify compliance with internal standards and industry regulations.
- Drive defect reduction and capability improvement across production operations.
- Partner with engineering, production, and supply chain to investigate and resolve issues at the root cause.
- Author and maintain quality documentation: process flows, inspection plans/reports, corrective and preventive actions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Operations Management, Engineering Management, Quality Management, or a closely related field.
- Master's degree in quality management or a related discipline preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in quality engineering or a related manufacturing function.
- Hands-on experience with Six Sigma, Lean, FMEA, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Proven track record conducting audits, inspections, and testing programs.
Standards and methods
- Automotive frameworks: IATF 16949, ISO 9001, VOA, APQP.
- Core quality methods: APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, MSA.
Technical toolkit
- Manufacturing processes, product design fundamentals, and materials knowledge.
- Statistical analysis, problem-solving, and KPI/quality metric interpretation.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and quality management platforms (ERP systems or SAP).
- Minitab or equivalent statistical software.
- Working knowledge of CAD and the ability to interpret engineering drawings is beneficial.
- Experience with OEM portals is a plus.
