Description:
We would love to have you join our Ideal team! We are currently hiring at our Calhoun, KY location for a Deli Associate. Applicant must be willing to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends.
This deli position will consistently begin the morning shift at 3:30 am CT.
This position will require you to do the following:
- Meet company standards of quality, safety, cleanliness and hospitality in providing the most satisfactory food possibly
- Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example
- Follow operational policies and procedures, including those for safety and security, to ensure the safety of all employees each shift
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Have patience and continually provide exemplary customer service
Qualifications:
- Be able to communicate with co-workers and managers effectively
- Stand for the majority of your shift (approx 8 hours)
- Reach and lift up to 40 pounds
- Work around, handle, operate, and control hot equipment and products in a safe manner
- Work at a pace consistent with changing business volume and demands
- Ability to learn quickly
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Physical ability to lift heavy products and work in a standing position for long hours
- Operating knowledge of weighing scales, slicers, and cash registers
- Ability to understand and follow instructions and regulations regarding food safety and sanitation
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-centric approach
- Basic math and computational skills
