Front Counter Cashier

Payless Drugs is seeking friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashiers to join our team. As the first and last point of contact for our customers, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming experience while supporting the daily operations of our pharmacy. The ideal candidate enjoys helping people, works well in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to accuracy, professionalism, and teamwork.

We are currently hiring for multiple locations, including Birmingham, Morris, Fairfield, and Springville, Alabama. During the interview process, we'll discuss your preferred location and current openings to find the best fit for both you and our team.

$12 - $15 hourly

• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting every customer, answering questions, processing transactions accurately, and creating a friendly, professional experience.

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process prescriptions, over-the-counter purchases, payments, refunds, and daily cash reconciliation with accuracy.

• Support pharmacy operations by assisting with prescription pickup, maintaining patient confidentiality (HIPAA), directing workflow, and communicating effectively with pharmacists and technicians.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked front end by merchandising products, restocking shelves, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring the store is presentation-ready.

• Contribute to a positive team environment by assisting coworkers, completing assigned tasks efficiently, and following all company policies, safety procedures, and compliance requirements.

• Should enjoy working with people and display strong customer service skills
• Strong cash register and point of sale system experience are desired
• Prefer some previous experience working as cashier
• Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time management abilities
• Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are needed
