Business Development Lead

Cargo LLC

Jacksonville, FL 32218 • $60,000 to $120,000 / yr • 8/25/2026

Job Description

Job Description

Cargo ePOD builds software for auto transport the carriers, brokers and
shippers who move vehicles around the country. It is a large industry that
still runs largely on paper, and we are changing that.

We are hiring our first dedicated business development lead to own growth: find
customers, close them, get them using the product, and build the channels that
bring more.

This is a build-it role, not a maintain-it role. There is no existing playbook.
You will be handed a clear target, a budget to go after it, and a great deal of
latitude in how you do it.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

* New business across carriers, brokers, dealer groups and shippers
outbound, demos, and closing.
* Onboarding new customers and getting them genuinely up and running, which
matters more here than the sale itself.
* Channel and referral partnerships with companies that already serve this
industry.
* The marketing that supports all of it: positioning, content, community
presence, lifecycle email, case studies, referrals.
* A clean CRM and one straightforward weekly report on what is working.

STARTING TERRITORY

Jacksonville and North Florida first. It is a strong market for this industry
and close enough to work in person. Once it is working there, we expand.

HOW WE MEASURE IT

We care about customers actively using the product, not signups. Specific
monthly targets and a realistic ramp are agreed in writing before you start,
and we will walk you through them in the first conversation.

If you would rather the targets stayed vague, this is not the right role for
you.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

* Experience selling into trucking, logistics, auto transport, dealer
services or fleet software or you have run trucks yourself and can talk
to an operator like a peer.
* Comfortable with real outbound. The phone, not a warm inbound queue.
* Equally able to hold a conversation with a small owner-operator and with a
dealer group's operations director.
* You have opened a partnership or channel relationship before, and can tell
us how it actually happened.
* You write clearly, and you organize yourself without being asked.
* In or near Jacksonville, or willing to be there regularly.

NOT A FIT IF

* Your plan is to buy lists and blast them.
* You measure success in leads generated rather than in customers actually
using the product.
* You need an existing playbook, a marketing team or an SDR under you to be
effective.

COMPENSATION

* $5,000-$10,000 per month depending on experience and scope, split between a
base and a performance component.
* Performance pays on customers still active after 60 days, not on signups.
* Tools, data, ad spend, travel and events are budgeted separately and do not
come out of your number.
* Advisory equity is on the table at the senior end after the trial period.

\nCompany Description

Cargo ePOD is a complete TMS for auto transport dispatch, inspections, proof of delivery, tracking and documents and it costs nothing to use.

The industry deserves better than what it has. Operators pay every month for tools that are thin on features, then run loads through a market where fraud is rampant: double-brokered freight, carriers who are not who they say they are, and damage claims that come down to whoever kept a better photo.

We build for how vehicle transport actually works, not how general freight software assumes it does. Every load carries a verifiable chain of custody who had the vehicle, when, and in what condition so a dispute is settled by the record instead of by argument.

Our team works out of Jacksonville, Florida, and we work with carriers and shippers nationwide.
