A key part of the role will be usingRobotic Total Station (RTS) technologyto bring model information directly into the field.
If you have experience withRevit, AutoCAD, or BIM modeling, enjoy construction technology, and want to see your work go from the computer screen to an actual building, this could be a great opportunity.
This position requires regular travel to project sites.

What You'll Do
  • Serve as theliaison between our BIM technicians and field construction teams
  • Use BIM models and construction documents to support field layout and installation
  • Set up and operate aRobotic Total Station (RTS)for construction layout
  • Translate coordinated model information into accurate field locations
  • Lay out points for piping, ductwork, equipment, sleeves, hangers, supports, penetrations, and other building systems
  • Work directly with foremen, superintendents, project managers, and BIM technicians
  • Identify differences between BIM models, construction documents, and actual field conditions
  • Communicate field changes and coordination issues back to the BIM team
  • Verify dimensions, elevations, and installation locations before work is performed
  • Help field personnel effectively use BIM-generated information
  • Troubleshoot layout and coordination issues in the field
  • Help us continue improving our BIM-to-field technology and processes

Who Will Excel in This Role? This position is a strong fit for someone who:
  • Enjoystechnology but doesn't want to sit behind a desk all day
  • Likes seeing how a BIM model becomes an actual installation
  • Is naturally precise and pays attention to details
  • Enjoys troubleshooting and solving problems in real time
  • Communicates well with both technical and field-oriented team members
  • Is comfortable walking active construction sites and working alongside field crews
  • Can work independently without losing sight of the larger project team
  • Is comfortable traveling and working on different projects
  • Wants to help bring new technology and better processes into the field

Why Join Us? You'll have an opportunity to work at the intersection ofconstruction, BIM, and field technology. Instead of simply creating or reviewing models, you'll see how those models are used to build real projects. You'll work closely with both our BIM team and our field professionals while helping us expand the use of Robotic Total Station and other BIM-to-field technologies across our projects.
If you're ready to take your BIM experienceout of the office and into the field, we'd like to talk with you. Apply today to join our team as a BIM Field Engineer.
