Position Summary

The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's accounts payable function, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, expense reports, and related financial transactions. This position manages AP staff, maintains strong internal controls, and collaborates with cross-functional departments to support efficient financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the daily operations of the Accounts Payable department.
  • Manage, coach, and develop AP team members to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Oversee invoice processing, payment approvals, vendor maintenance, and expense reimbursements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payment of vendor invoices in accordance with company policies and payment terms.
  • Monitor AP aging and resolve outstanding payment issues.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounts payable procedures.
  • Review and reconcile AP-related general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  • Coordinate with auditors and provide supporting documentation for audits.
  • Analyze AP workflows and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Partner with procurement, operations, and finance teams to resolve discrepancies and improve vendor relationships.
  • Prepare AP reporting, metrics, and management summaries as needed.
Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, internal controls, and accounting principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
