Auto Body Paint Prep

The Auto Body Paint Prep technician is an essential member of a larger auto body workshop, responsible for preparing vehicle surfaces to ensure high-quality paint finishes. This role involves meticulous attention to detail in surface preparation, masking, sanding, and cleaning, as well as mixing and matching paint colors using standard automotive coatings. The technician reports directly to the Auto Body Shop Manager and Paint Shop Supervisor and contributes to maintaining safety compliance and equipment upkeep.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting, including sanding and cleaning
• Apply masking materials to protect areas not being painted
• Mix and match automotive paint colors accurately
• Maintain painting equipment and tools in good working condition
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure paint preparation standards
• Adhere to safety protocols and compliance measures in the workshop

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in auto body paint preparation
