Machinist-Manual Lathe

We are currently seeking an experienced Boring Mill operator to operate a manual horizontal boring mill. Experience with machining large parts on a horizontal boring mill. Knowledge reading blueprints a must.

MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS EXPERIENCE

· Self-motivated

· Must have own machinist tools

· Ability to read blueprints, sketches/drawings, manuals and use of sample parts for reference

· Ability to perform OD and ID machining on multiple types of steel and bronze

· Ability to perform single point threading

· Use of tools such as micrometers, indicators/scales, calipers, etc.

· Ability to operate crane

Machines parts to specifications

· Experience with both small and larger materials on lathe

· Monitoring machine speeds and feed, material rotation, depth cuts, precision

· Ability to adjust equipment for out of tolerance. Report any malfunctions with supervisors

Ability to adapt in changing priorities and environment

Performs additional related duties as assigned

Regular and reliable attendance and performance are required

Hours: Monday-Thursday 7am-4:30pm, Friday: 7am-3:30pm

Physical DemandsOccasionally lift up to 100 lbs. maximum with assistance. Frequently lift, carry and manipulate up to 50 pounds. Frequent bending, kneeling and occasional climbing on 12-foot ladders and scaffolding. Works around fumes, odors and dust in an occasionally high noise level environment with appropriate personal protective equipment.
