About Our Client:

Addison Group is partnering with our client, a reputable healthcare organization, to identify a skilled Collections Specialist. This team supports a high-volume billing operation and values efficiency, accuracy, and strong communication in resolving patient accounts.

Job Description:

The Collections Specialist will focus on managing outstanding patient balances and supporting revenue cycle functions through consistent outreach and account review. This role requires someone comfortable handling a large number of daily calls while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Make outbound calls to patients to discuss and resolve past-due balances
• Review account details, including insurance payments and explanations of benefits, to confirm amounts owed
• Prioritize and work through aging accounts to improve collection outcomes
• Explain balances and available payment solutions clearly and professionally
• Accurately log all communications and updates within internal systems
• Run and maintain reports to track account progress and follow-ups
• Work with internal teams to address discrepancies or complex account issues
• Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of patient information at all times

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in medical collections
• Strong background in phone-based collections with high daily call volume
• Working knowledge of EOBs and healthcare billing processes
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to stay productive and detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with EMR or billing systems preferred (training provided)

Additional Details:

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (flexible within business needs)
• 100% onsite in Bethesda, MD
• In-person interview process with hiring manager
• Contract assignment (3–6 months) with potential for extension
• Target start date: mid-July
• Parking available onsite
