Operational leadership retains responsibility for employee compliance with established safety requirements.\n \nResponsibilities \nServe as the primary point of responsibility for facilities projects from initial requirement through completion.\n \nTranslate operational and manufacturing needs into clearly defined scopes of work and technical requirements.\n \nDevelop project plans, schedules, cost estimates, and contractor requirements as appropriate.\n \nCoordinate internal stakeholders, equipment manufacturers, contractors, vendors, and service providers.\n \nSolicit and evaluate contractor/vendor solutions and proposals in coordination with company procurement processes.\n \nMonitor project execution, resolve field issues, and verify completed work meets the intended requirement.\n \nManage multiple facilities projects and maintenance requirements simultaneously.\n \nIdentify risks, dependencies, infrastructure limitations, and potential schedule or operational impacts before work begins.\n \nProvide leadership with project status, significant risks, cost concerns, and issues requiring management decisions.\n \nReview electrical requirements associated with manufacturing equipment, facility modifications, lighting, compressors, and other systems.\n \nUnderstand and apply working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) when developing facility requirements.\n \nPerform or validate basic electrical load calculations and evaluate existing electrical infrastructure and available capacity.\n \nCoordinate with qualified electricians and electrical contractors to develop and execute appropriate solutions.\n \nReview manufacturer specifications and translate equipment electrical requirements into installation requirements.\n \nIdentify potential electrical infrastructure limitations and coordinate required upgrades.\n \nCoordinate facility requirements associated with installation, relocation, or modification of manufacturing equipment.\n \nReview equipment specifications, dimensions, weight, utility requirements, foundation requirements, anchoring, clearances, and desired placement.\n \nDevelop or coordinate equipment installation plans with operational leadership, equipment manufacturers, and contractors.\n \nCoordinate electrical power, compressed air, foundations, ventilation, plumbing, and other supporting infrastructure.\n \nEnsure facility modifications are coordinated to minimize disruption to ongoing operations.\n \nReview equipment foundation and installation specifications.\n \nTranslate equipment size, weight, placement, anchoring, and manufacturer requirements into actionable requirements for concrete contractors.\n \nCoordinate location, dimensions, specifications, and installation of equipment pads and foundations.\n \nWork with appropriate technical specialists or engineers when requirements exceed the position's technical authority or require professional engineering approval.\n \nDevelop and coordinate compressed-air distribution requirements for manufacturing operations.\n \nSupport planning and modification of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, ventilation, and other facility utility systems.\n \nEvaluate existing infrastructure when new equipment or operational requirements are introduced.\n \nIdentify utility capacity or infrastructure limitations and develop appropriate corrective solutions.\n \nCoordinate specialized contractors when work requires licensed trades or specialized engineering expertise.\n \nConduct routine facility inspections and identify maintenance, repair, and improvement requirements.\n \nDevelop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for facility systems and equipment.\n \nEnsure recurring maintenance requirements are completed and appropriately documented.\n \nCoordinate HVAC maintenance, filter replacement, plumbing repairs, lighting, electrical maintenance, and other routine facility requirements.\n \nMaintain awareness of facility conditions and proactively address deficiencies before they affect operations.\n \nCoordinate emergency or unscheduled facility repairs.\n \nPerform appropriate minor hands-on facility maintenance when practical while recognizing when work should be performed by a qualified contractor or licensed trade.\n \nMaintain effective relationships with facility maintenance vendors, contractors, landlords, and service providers.\n \nSupport company workplace safety efforts as they relate to facilities, manufacturing infrastructure, equipment, and PPE.\n \nCoordinate with operational leadership to identify PPE requirements associated with work activities and equipment.\n \nEnsure required PPE and related safety supplies are available, appropriately stocked, and accessible to employees.\n \nCoordinate inspection, maintenance, and availability of facility-related safety equipment such as eyewash stations, first-aid supplies, fire extinguishers, emergency signage, and similar resources.\n \nIncorporate safety considerations into equipment installations, facility modifications, and infrastructure projects.\n \nReview equipment manufacturer requirements for applicable PPE, guarding, electrical safety, ventilation, emergency access, and other physical safety requirements.\n \nSupport facility and infrastructure requirements associated with lockout/tagout, machine guarding, electrical safety, compressed air, fall protection, and similar programs as applicable.\n \nCoordinate facility-related safety requirements for contractors performing work at company locations.\n \nIdentify safety-related facility deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions.\n \nSupport operational leadership with technical or facility-related safety concerns.\n \nA critical requirement of this position is the ability to independently take an identified operational need and turn it into a completed solution.\n \nInvestigate problems and determine root causes.\n \nDefine technical and facility requirements.\n \nIdentify potential solutions.\n \nDetermine when internal resources, vendors, contractors, engineers, or licensed trades are required.\n \nDevelop scopes of work and coordinate execution.\n \nTroubleshoot issues encountered during execution.\n \nMake appropriate decisions within established authority.\n \nEscalate issues requiring leadership decisions rather than relying on leadership to manage routine project execution.\n \nFollow requirements through completion and verify the resulting solution meets the operational need.\n \nCoordinate and maintain the company's workplace safety program in partnership with operational leadership.\n \nEnsure Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) are developed, reviewed, and maintained for applicable machines, processes, and work activities.\n \nCoordinate monthly safety communications with department and team leads and ensure topics are appropriate to each work environment.\n \nDevelop, coordinate, or conduct required safety training and maintain associated training records.\n \nMaintain required safety documentation, including JSAs, inspections, training records, corrective actions, and other applicable records.\n \nServe as the company's primary coordinator for OSHA inspections, inquiries, reporting, record requests, and corrective actions, engaging leadership and appropriate technical/legal resources as necessary.\n \nTrack identified safety deficiencies and corrective actions through closure.\n \nSupport supervisors and managers in understanding applicable safety requirements while maintaining operational leadership's responsibility for employee compliance and safe work practices.\n \nInitiate, track, and follow through to closure work orders and service requests for maintenance and repairs that are the responsibility of facility landlords or property management.\n \nOther duties as assigned.\n \nMinimum Qualifications & Education Requirements and Desired Skillsets\nBachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, construction management, facilities management, industrial technology, or a related technical discipline is preferred but should not be required when equivalent practical experience demonstrates the necessary capabilities.\n \nDemonstrated experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or technically complex facilities.\n \nDemonstrated ability to independently manage facility projects from requirement development through completion.\n \nWorking knowledge of electrical systems and National Electrical Code requirements applicable to industrial or commercial facilities.\n \nAbility to understand basic electrical load and power requirements associated with manufacturing equipment.\n \nExperience coordinating electricians, mechanical contractors, concrete contractors, equipment vendors, and other skilled trades.\n \nAbility to read and interpret equipment specifications, drawings, technical manuals, and contractor documentation.\n \nWorking knowledge of building systems including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, and related utilities.\n \nExperience with preventive maintenance and facility maintenance programs.\n \nStrong troubleshooting and practical problem-solving skills.\n \nStrong organizational and project management skills.\n \nAbility to communicate technical requirements effectively with both technical and nontechnical personnel.\n \nAbility to manage multiple projects, priorities, and unscheduled requirements.\n \nAbility and willingness to perform hands-on facility inspections and appropriate minor maintenance activities.\n \nAbility to recognize when work requires a licensed trade, professional engineer, or other specialized technical resource.\n \nExperience supporting manufacturing or industrial operations.\n \nExperience with manufacturing equipment installation and relocation.\n \nExperience with electrical distribution systems and electrical load calculations.\n \nExperience developing scopes of work and managing construction or facility improvement projects.\n \nExperience with compressed-air systems and industrial utility distribution.\n \nExperience coordinating concrete foundations or equipment pads for industrial machinery.\n \nExperience supporting workplace safety programs, PPE requirements, or industrial safety initiatives.\n \nFamiliarity with OSHA requirements applicable to industrial/manufacturing environments.\n \nExperience managing contractors and vendors.\n \nFormal training or education in facilities engineering, industrial technology, electrical technology, construction management, engineering technology, industrial maintenance, or a related discipline.\n \nRelevant facilities, maintenance, construction, electrical, project management, or safety certifications.\n \nU.S. Citizenship required.\n \nPhysical Description\nEmployees in these positions will work in an assembly, manufacturing, and production environment, as well as in equipment assembly areas using technical and electronic testing equipment, including specialized software. They will collaborate with various personnel in a manufacturing or testing setting, attend meetings, contribute to team efforts, deliver timely results, produce reports, and communicate information effectively. Telework may be included.\n \nIn specialized laboratory or testing environments, employees will use electronic testing equipment, complex systems, and computer software.
