Keystone Compliance, a regulatory compliance test lab located in New Castle, PA, is currently seeking candidates for a Mechanical Test Technician position. The successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent character, and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Environmental and Mechanical Testing: Perform hands-on testing of components and assemblies to evaluate their performance under various conditions, including vibration, thermal cycling, humidity, altitude, corrosion (e.g., salt spray), ingress protection, and more.
- Set Up and Operate Test Equipment: Prepare and operate specialized test equipment such as electrodynamic shakers, thermal chambers, humidity chambers, and environmental test chambers to simulate real-world conditions.
- Fabricate and Maintain Test Fixtures: Assist in the design, fabrication, and maintenance of custom test fixtures and setups to ensure accurate and repeatable testing.
- Collect and Analyze Data: Record test data meticulously, perform preliminary analyses, and report findings to engineers and other stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot Test Setups: Identify and resolve issues with test equipment, fixtures, or specimens to ensure smooth and efficient testing operations.
- Maintain Test Equipment: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of test equipment to ensure reliability and compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and industry standards during testing procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Support Documentation Efforts: Assist in the preparation and organization of test reports, including data logs and observations, for inclusion in final documentation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of working relevant experience.
- Experience with machining, welding, fabrication, HVAC, electricity and electronics are a plus.
- Proficient with MS Office.
- Be as comfortable working with tools as working on a keyboard.
- Ability to lift and handle equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods while conducting tests.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer. Citizenship must permit compliance with the requirements of ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
