Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Pipelayer to install underground utilities including water, sewer, storm drain, and other pipe systems. This role involves preparing trenches, aligning and laying pipe to grade, and ensuring proper installation per plans and safety standards. The ideal candidate has experience in civil or utility construction and works well as part of a team in fast-paced outdoor environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and align various types of pipe (PVC, RCP, HDPE, ductile iron, etc.) for sewer, water, and storm drainage systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes a plus
  • Setup pipe laser a plus
  • Measure, cut, and connect pipe sections using proper tools and methods
  • Ensure pipe slope, elevation, and alignment meet project specifications
  • Assist in trench preparation and backfilling using hand or power tools
  • Operate or assist with operation of compaction equipment and trench boxes
  • Communicate with equipment operators and foremen to coordinate workflow
  • Follow all site safety procedures, including shoring, trench safety, and PPE use

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in pipe installation or underground utility work
  • Familiarity with trench safety regulations and pipe installation techniques
  • Ability to read grades and use laser levels or transits
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and physically demanding conditions

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs regularly
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and digging
  • Work in all weather conditions and confined spaces
