Summary
The Warehouse Associate plays a pivotal role in the effective functioning of warehouse operations. Responsible for executing various tasks, including but not limited to receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping merchandise accurately within the warehouse. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, maintaining inventory accuracy, and contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of warehouse operations. The Warehouse Associate operates various types of equipment, collaborates with team members, and follows established procedures to support seamless logistical processes, timely order fulfillment, and exceptional customer service.

Essential Functions
Include the following, among other duties that may be assigned:

• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
• Picks and packs customer orders
• Marks materials with identifying information
• Weighs or counts items for shipment to customers
• Uses computer to enter records
• Prepares parcels for mailing
• Maintains inventory records
• Cleans warehouse for the purpose of maintaining a safe and sanitary work area
• Loads and unloads delivery trucks for the purpose of receiving stock and/or filling orders for transport
• Maintains records for the purpose of documenting activities and providing reliable resource information
• Participates in physical inventory for the purpose of verifying stock and identifying losses
• Performs all functions within the scope of the warehouse for the purpose of providing warehousing operations
• Prepares orders by pulling from stock for the purpose of meeting delivery requirements

Competencies

The competencies required for success in this role include:

1. Receiving and Inspecting: Receive incoming shipments, inspect packages for accuracy, and verify quantities against packing slips or purchase orders.
2. Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory by labeling, shelving, and recording product locations accurately within the warehouse.
3. Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment by accurately selecting the correct items and quantities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to customers.
4. Quality Control: Perform regular quality checks on products to maintain high standards and report any discrepancies or damaged goods to the supervisor.
5. Equipment Operation: Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks safely and efficiently, following proper procedures and guidelines.
6. Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse by organizing stock, disposing of packaging materials, and adhering to sanitation standards.

Minimum Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Prior warehouse or general labor experience preferred but not required.
3. Ability to lift up to 60 lbs regularly.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; extreme cold and extreme heat due to a non-climate-controlled warehouse. The job is performed under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
The employee is frequently required to stand; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to/above 60 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Flexibility is required in work hours to accommodate job demands as necessary. Lunch break is one hour.
