Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Electronics Soldering Technician - RF & SMT to assemble, hand-solder, rework, and inspect high-precision electronic components. Working in an ISO cleanroom environment, you will play a critical role in manufacturing microelectronics used in aerospace and defense systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Precision Soldering & Rework: Perform fine-pitch hand soldering and micro-soldering on Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and through-hole components using microscope-assisted soldering irons and hot-air rework stations.
  • Blueprint & Schematic Interpretation: Read assembly drawings, technical schematics, and Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure exact component placement.
  • Quality Inspection & Testing: Conduct visual inspection of solder joints (IPC-A-610 standards) using high-power microscopes to identify and resolve bridging, cold joints, or trace damage.
  • Component Repair: Safely de-solder, replace defective micro-components, and perform PCB trace repairs.
  • Cleanroom & Safety Standards: Maintain tools, follow strict Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protocols, and adhere to cleanroom gowning and safety procedures.

Qualifications & Core Skills

  • Experience: 2+ years of hands-on electronics assembly or precision hand soldering experience (Micro-electronics or RF experience preferred).
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with SMT processes, circuit schematics, wire bonding, or IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001 soldering standards.
  • Tools & Equipment: Experience using microscopes, calipers, hot-air rework tools, and electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeters/ohmmeters).
  • Dexterity & Vision: Excellent manual dexterity and close-up vision required for working with micro-scale components under a microscope.
  • ITAR Requirements: Must be a "U.S. Person" (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident/Green Card holder, Asylee, or Refugee) due to ITAR defense compliance.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain seated or standing at a cleanroom workstation for up to 8–10 hours daily.
  • Ability to manipulate micro-components using tweezers and hand tools while wearing cleanroom PPE (gown, mask, gloves).
  • Close vision and capability to focus through a binocular microscope for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting and moving of component trays or equipment up to 25 lbs.
