Cost Accountant
Job Title: Cost Accountant
Salary: $60K - $90K (DOE)
Location: Temple, TX (on-site position)
Requirements: B.A. in Accounting, Business, or related field / 2+ years of accounting, cost accounting, or related experience
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and analyze costing data to support business operations
- Assist with inventory accounting and valuation activities
- Monitor and analyze variances, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
- Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare and distribute financial and operational reports
- Research discrepancies and perform root cause analysis
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve processes and maintain accurate financial data
- Assist with inventory reviews, cycle counts, and related reporting
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and other financial planning activities
- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- 2+ years of accounting, cost accounting, or related experience
- Knowledge of cost accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience working with inventory, costing, or manufacturing-related accounting activities is preferred
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
