Box Truck Driver

Pay Range:$ 18-23 perhour (based on licensure)
Shift:1st Shift, 6AM – 3:30 PM, with overtime as needed Mon-Friday
Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Safely drive company vehicles to transportgoods within a specified area.

• Ensure secure transportation of materials, verify loads, and obtain necessary documentation.

• Determineoptimalroutes fortimelydeliveries.

• Safely handle and transport inventory within thewarehouse andwhile loading and unloading trucks.

• Operateand maneuver warehouse equipment including, but not limitedto,pallet jacks, forklifts, and push carts.

• Represent the company positively and interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner.

• Maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness through regular inspections.

• Accuratelymaintaina detailed log of destinations and mileage driven.

• Assistwith material handling tasks as needed.

• Follow safety protocols andmaintaina clean and organized work environment.

• Other duties as assigned by management.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to communicatein a polite andprofessionalmannerwith customers and vendors.

• Efficient time management skills and self-directed workethic.

• Capable ofreading, understanding, and accurately following shipping and receiving documentation.

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.

Requirements:

• Ability toread/write/speak in English.

• Valid Driver’s License.
  

• Ability to passDOTphysical.

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time while operating a motor vehicle.

• Frequent use of hands, arms, and legs tooperatevehicle controls.

• Ability to lift, carry,pushand pull items up to 50 pounds, as needed.

• Physical ability necessary to move materialsandoperatewarehouse equipment.

• Ability to lift50lbs occasionally.

• Must be able to obtain Hi-lo certification which requires a valid driver’s license.

• Good vision and hearing, with or without corrective devices to ensure safe driving and communication.

• Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and reach asrequiredfor loading and unloading cargo.

• Manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform routing vehicle inspections and minor maintenance tasks.

• Work is primarily performed in a vehicle and may include exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, cold, ice, snow, rain).

• May involve driving in urban, suburban, and rural areas, including high-traffic zones.

• Occasional exposure to noise, vibration, and exhaust fumes.

• CDL License preferred
