Job Summary:

The Fire Alarm Technicianis responsible forthe installation, testing, inspection, service, and repair of fire alarm systems. Respond to emergency and maintenance calls and troubleshoot/replace faulty devices to restore alarm panels to “normal condition”.Complete inspection and service reports.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Traveltocustomerlocationstoperforminstallation,service,andupgradesoffirealarmsystems.
  • Respondtoemergencysituationsduringandafterbusinesshourstoresolvesafetyconcerns.
  • PerformAnnualandSemi-annualinspectionofLifeSafetySystems.
  • Write and provide inspection/service reports on tested equipment and devices.Indicate any deficiencies or corrections that need tobemade.
  • Troubleshootanddiagnosefaultsormalfunctionsinfirealarmsystemsandtakeappropriateactions.
  • Performsystemupgrades,modifications,andexpansionsasnecessary.
  • Collaboratewithcustomers,contractors,and other teammemberstoensure efficient and effective installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
  • Maintainaccuraterecords of workperformed, including service reports, inspection reports, andequipment inventory.
  • Providetechnical supportandguidance to customersregardingfire alarm systems, including system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Stay current with industry trends, codes,regulations,and technological advancements related to fire alarm systems.
  • Adheretosafetyguidelinesandpractices,bothforpersonalsafetyandthesafetyofothers.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma orGEDrequired.Additionaltechnical certifications or training in fire alarm systems is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledgeof basic electricity and the ability to read electrical schematics.
  • Provenexperience working as a Fire Alarm Technician is preferred.
  • Willing to support training/development for entry-level candidates. Technical aptitude preferred.
  • Solid Knowledge of fire alarm systems, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, andrepair is preferred.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and standards, such as NFPA 72, NEC, and local firecodes is preferred.
  • Proficiencyin reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals is preferred.
  • Strongproblem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Excellentattention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communicationand
