Position Summary
LYNC Transportation Services is seeking dependable, professional part-time School Transportation Attendants to support the safe transportation of students throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding counties. Attendants are responsible for student supervision, safety, and assistance throughout transportation. No prior student transportation experience is required. LYNC provides paid, hands-on training and ongoing support in student safety, supervision, securement, behavior support, and emergency procedures.

Schedule
Part-time, school-year schedule: AM-only, PM-only, or split shifts (AM/PM routes). Applicants must be available Monday through Friday for their assigned shift. No nights, weekends, holidays, or summers required.

  • AM Shift: Assignments scheduled between approximately 5:30 a.m. and 9:59 a.m.
  • PM Shift: Assignments scheduled between approximately 1:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m.
  • AM & PM: Split-shift schedule with morning and afternoon assignments.
Optional additional hours may be available for midday routes, field trips, special events, summer transportation, and other assignments based on operational needs.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Actively supervise students throughout transportation.
  • Assist students with boarding, exiting, seating, and securement as needed.
  • Support students in accordance with individual transportation needs and instructions.
  • Use positive behavior support and de-escalation strategies as needed.
  • Support required student ridership and attendance documentation.
  • Communicate student or transportation-related concerns as required.
  • Report student misconduct, incidents, and safety concerns as required.
  • Use Company-issued tablets, digital manifests, communication platforms, routing systems, and other required technology.
  • Complete required beginning- and end-of-route student and vehicle checks.
  • Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the assigned reporting location.
  • Ability to supervise students and respond appropriately to safety, behavioral, and emergency situations.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use Company-issued technology and electronic systems.
  • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, patience, and sound judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) or more years of experience working with children or students; student transportation experience preferred.

Conditions of Employment
Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion and verification of all applicable pre-employment requirements, including:

  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Clearance
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
  • FBI Criminal History Background Check
  • Act 168 Employment History Review
  • Valid Pennsylvania Act 126 Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training Certificate
  • Tuberculosis (TB) Screening dated within the past three (3) months
  • Drug and Alcohol Screening

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to enter and exit passenger vans repeatedly throughout the workday.
  • Ability to assist students with boarding, exiting, seating, and securement as required.
  • Ability to remain alert and actively supervise students while the vehicle is in motion.
  • Ability to perform student and vehicle checks and respond appropriately during emergency situations.

This role requires English proficiency to safely perform its essential functions. Training and safety communications are conducted in English. Company policies, employment documents, and other job-related communications are also conducted in English. Employees must be able to communicate with students, families, schools, Dispatch, and emergency personnel when needed. This requirement is job-related and consistent with applicable safety and transportation requirements. Where DOT rules apply to a vehicle or assignment, employees must also meet the applicable English-language requirements.
