JOB DESCRIPTION

DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping

REPORTS TO: Executive Housekeeper

STATUS: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY

The Housekeeping Supervisor ensures hotel and brand cleanliness standards are met for guest rooms and public areas. This role involves inspecting rooms, coordinating housekeeping operations, managing supplies, andassistingwith staff training and supervision. The position supports management in daily activities and contributes to delivering consistent guest service.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Previouslaundry or housekeeping experience helpful.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Service-oriented attitude and ability to work as part of a team.

  • Must be able to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

PhysicalRequirements:

  • Ability to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 25lbswithoutassistance;heavier items withassistance.

  • Push and pull loaded carts and other work-related equipment.

  • Frequent bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, or sit for extended periods duringentireshift.

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach during inspections and cleaning tasks.

General Requirements

  • Follow all company and OSHA safety and sanitization regulations.

  • Wearappropriate PPEand adhere to hazardous material handling procedures.

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS

Fundamental Requirements:

  • Operate washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently, following all manufacturer and company guidelines.

  • Sort linens by type, color, and size;identifyand pre-treat stains before washing tomaintainquality standards.

  • Wash and dry all linens, towels, and other fabrics according to hotel standards, ensuring proper temperature and cycle settings.

  • Clean dryer filters daily,monitormachine performance, and report any malfunctions promptly.

  • Fold towels and linens neatly; stack and organize clean items into carts or bins for delivery to guest floors and other departments.

  • Separate laundry requiring mending or special stain removal forappropriate processing.

  • Sweep and mop laundry floors regularly; store linens off the floor tomaintainhygiene and prevent contamination.

  • Monitor linen inventory levels and communicate shortages or replenishment needs to supervisors.
