Applied Metallurgical is expanding and looking for a dependable, hands-on CNC Machine Shop Assistant to join our Foundry and Machine Shop team.
This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who wants to learn, work with their hands, and build valuable skills in a precision machine shop. You’ll work alongside experienced machinists and CNC operators while learning how parts are prepared, machines are set up, and quality products are produced.
Job Duties Include:
- Assist experienced CNC operators and machinists with daily shop activities
- Prepare and move materials and parts
- Help with machine setup and production
- Load and unload parts from machines
- Inspect finished parts and perform basic quality checks
- Help keep machines, tools, and work areas clean and organized
- Assist with basic machine maintenance
- Follow safety procedures and quality standards
- Learn how to operate CNC equipment and develop your machining skills
Qualifications:
- Previous machine shop experience is a plus, but not required.
- Dependable and ready to work
- Comfortable working with their hands
- Mechanically inclined and interested in learning
- Detail-oriented and safety-conscious
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Interested in building a long-term career in manufacturing
