Job Description:
Job Title: Automotive Technician
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform frequent physical activities such as bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and pivoting throughout the workday.
- Sit infrequently as required to complete job tasks.
- Use hand skills including simple grasping, power grasping, fine manipulation, and reaching from floor level to above shoulder height.
- Safely operate vehicles with standard and manual transmissions.
- Utilize power tools and pneumatic tools as necessary.
- Service and maintain a fleet consisting of:
- Freightliner package carsequipped with GM 6.0L and 6.6L engines paired with Allison automatic transmissions.
- Ford package carsequipped with 6.8L and 7.3L engines paired with Ford 6R140 automatic transmissions.
- Occasional service on tractors, tractor dollies, and trailersmay also be required.
Requirements
- Must hold an active driver’s license issued by the state of employment.
- Must meet all Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) requirements for assigned work.
- Must provide and maintain personal hand tools necessary to complete job assignments.
- Availability to workMonday through Fridayon a consistent schedule.
Knowledge and Skills
- 3–5 years of documented automotive mechanical experience.
- Proficient in using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and computers.
- Possesses a complete set of required personal hand tools.
- Class A/B or A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)required or must obtain within 90 days
- Dependable and able to report to work on time daily and complete scheduled shifts.
- Willingness to work additional hours or overtime depending on service needs.
- Consistently wear personal protective equipment as required.
- Work effectively in environments with variable temperatures, humidity, exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, noise, and outdoor weather.
- Strong ability to work cooperatively in a diverse team environment.
- Able to communicate effectively through sight, hearing, and/or other methods to ensure safety and task completion.
