We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Radiation Therapist to join our Radiation Oncology team and help us deliver world-class treatment to patients in a collaborative, state-of-the-art environment.

Position Summary:

The Senior Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering precise and compassionate radiation therapy treatments while overseeing daily operations within the radiation oncology department. This individual will support the Chief Therapist, coordinate technical staff activities, ensure equipment functionality, and maintain a high standard of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Supervision:

  • Performs all duties of a Radiation Oncology Technologist.

  • Operates radiation therapy equipment and ensures proper functioning through daily checks.

  • Coordinates and monitors daily activities of technical staff; assists with scheduling and assigning work.

  • Provides guidance and support to team members regarding procedures and equipment use.

  • Oversees and supports radiation therapy students in training.

Quality Assurance & Equipment:

  • Ensures timely maintenance and inventory management.

  • Assists in QA activities such as data collection and chart audits.

  • Conducts chart rounds, peer reviews, and treatment chart closeouts.

Leadership & Development:

  • Evaluates staff performance with the Chief Therapist and Manager.

  • Participates in hiring, training, disciplinary actions, and professional development.

  • Orients and trains new staff on departmental procedures and hospital policies.

Patient Care & Teamwork:

  • Builds strong relationships with patients, families, and coworkers.

  • Champions the patient experience through empathy and technical excellence.

  • Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling and a commitment to collaborative care.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Radiologic Technologist

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (preferred)

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Radiation Therapy

  • Strong knowledge of radiation therapy equipment, dosimetry basics, and QA practices

  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills
