Intensive Care Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience:

• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 24 months of Intensive Care Unit experience within the past 4 years.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Washington license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Skills: Ventilated patients, Cath lab recovery, therapeutic hypothermia
• RNs required to titrate drips: Sedation (i.e. propofol, versed, fentanyl, precedex); pressors (i.e. Levophed, epinephrine, vasopressin, dopamine, dobutamine); diuretics such as Bumex; insulin; Amiodarone
• RN’s read strips

Types of Patients on Unit: COVID, Respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, sepsis, DKA

Unit Details:

• Beds 10 ICU 21 PCU
• Nurse Patient Ratios 2:1 ICU, 3:1 PCU (in normal circumstances) 3:1 ICU and 4:1 PCU Stretch

Shift & Scheduling:

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Rotate with permanent staff

Floating Requirements: In rotation to med/surg/tele 1:5, telemetry 1:4-5, ED boarding, PCU 1:3-4; First to float - Region I: Primary to St Anne Hospital, but if needed, travelers will be required to float throughout Region One: St. Francis Hospital – Federal Way, WA; Virginia Mason Medical Center – Seattle, WA; St. Anne Hospital – Burien, WA.

Facility holidays: 01/01/2025, 11/27/2025, 12/25/2025. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
